Sponsor a Bear gave members of our community an opportunity to help provide new stuffed animals for Heart & Hope comfort kits.
A stuffed animal may seem simple, but for a child going through a difficult or uncertain time, having something soft to hold can provide a small sense of comfort and companionship.
The campaign is now fully funded at 25 bears. Our next phase is building the bags and supply inventory needed for 50 complete comfort kits.
Community members help fund the bears for our comfort kits through our donation page.
Heart & Hope Project is coordinating with Build-A-Bear to plan an in-store experience at The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens where our volunteers can help create the sponsored furry friends.
The bears will be placed into approved Heart & Hope comfort kits alongside other comfort and activity items.
Completed kits will be provided to an approved pediatric healthcare or child-serving partner for children who can benefit from a little extra comfort and encouragement.
Sponsor a Bear isn't a standalone stuffed-animal drive. Each sponsored bear is intended to become part of a larger Heart & Hope Comfort Kit, thoughtfully created to provide comfort, encouragement, and hope.
Our comfort kits are designed to contain a combination of new comfort, activity and sensory items. Final contents may be adjusted to meet the safety and donation requirements of the organization receiving the kits.
Fundraising is complete, and we are now working with Build-A-Bear to schedule the volunteer experience at The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens where Heart & Hope volunteers will help create the 25 funded bears.
Our current plan is to use Build-A-Bear's basic furry-friend option without additional clothing or accessories so that campaign funds can help us provide as many bears as possible.
